Benefit from Our Mold Flow Analysis Services
Before we begin manufacturing a plastic injection mold, we can complete a mold flow analysis to ensure a cost-efficient process. Not every application will require an analysis, but it will likely save you time and money in the long run. Depending on the product geometry and tolerance requirements, SEA-LECT Plastics engineers will account for an analysis within the production budget. What is a Mold Flow Analysis?
During a mold flow analysis, we are able to quickly predict where the designed mold could have complications. The analysis offers a visual representation on where improvements can be made to ensure fast, efficient, and consistent injection molded parts. An analysis will evaluate a few different areas of your mold: filling and packing, cooling, warping, and structural finite elements.
Filling and Packing
The filling and packing analysis allows the designer and toolmaker to see how the chosen resin will behave as it flows through the mold. Changes can be made to the gate, runner, and tool size, gate position, and other variables to get the most accurate mold.
Cooling
The correct cooling time can ensure your parts meet dimensional requirements and optimize the cycle time to reduce downtime and lost revenue.
Warping
Analyzing the conditions inducing warpage will reduce scrap and increase productivity.
Structural Finite Element
An analysis will predict the strength and structure for each part cavity. This prediction will allow the designer to adjust the part design, mold design, or molding conditions to ensure the parts meet your design structure needs.
